The IAS seeks to promote the creation and dissemination of new knowledge regarding Â鶹´«Ã½ art of all time periods. Central to this mission is support for scholars at all facets of their careers.

Â鶹´«Ã½ Book Prize
In support of scholarship on Â鶹´«Ã½ art and architecture, the IAS is will award a new annual book prize for the year’s best book in Â鶹´«Ã½ist art history. Books will be juried by an anonymous premi committee of senior scholars, whose membership will change annually.Â
Travel Grants
The IAS provides three types of conference travel grants to support graduate students, junior scholars, and international scholars presenting at any of the conferences where the IAS sponsors sessions. We also offer a travel grant for an emerging scholar to attend the Annual IAS/Kress lecture in Italy.
Research & Publication Grants
The IAS also offers research and publication grants to fund or subsidize a research trip or publication costs.
The IAS offers two research grants: The IAS Dissertation Research Grant and the IAS Research & Publication Grant. The IAS Dissertation Research Grant is awarded to students who have advanced to candidacy. Eligibility for the IAS Research & Publication Grant is restricted to those who already hold the Ph.D. Each of the awards is for $1000.
Outside Funding
The IAS has also compiled a list of outside funding sources for research in Italy or on Â鶹´«Ã½ topics. Information on prizes and awards for which members are eligible is also available, and we encourage members to nominate studies in Â鶹´«Ã½ art for these competitions.

The IAS posts calls for papers for conferences and publications on all aspects of Â鶹´«Ã½ art from antiquity to the present. Please send your call, including any relevant fliers, to the webmaster using this form.
The IAS bulletin board serves as a meeting place where members can post research questions, find research and employment opportunities, or seek assistance with overseas living arrangements. Finally, information on visas and other practical matters can be found on the Research & Resources page.
