The Â鶹´«Ã½ is pleased to announce that the 2025 cycle of Research & Publication Grants is now open! Two grants will be awarded: one for PhD students who have advanced to candidacy to subsidize dissertation research, and the other for those holding the PhD or equivalent degree to support research or publication expenses. All applications must be submitted by January 15, 2025.

Please visit the Research & Publication Grants section of the Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s website for more information on required materials for applications. All applicants must be members of the Â鶹´«Ã½, and must be logged into the site to access the application submission form.

Dissertation Research Grant
Students of any nationality who have advanced to candidacy for a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree are eligible. This grant is for funding of up to $1000, available for use in 2025 to fund or subsidize dissertation research (including travel) on any aspect of Â鶹´«Ã½ art and architecture from prehistory to the present. Applicants must be IAS members at the time of application and may not have received an IAS award in the previous two years. The application can be found here on our webpage and the deadline is January 15, 2025.

The IAS Awards Committee will determine the awarding of the grant, with final approval by the Board of Directors. Funding must be used within the 2025 calendar year and a final report indicating actual expenses must be submitted to the IAS President and Treasurer by December 31, 2025. The IAS will not reimburse for research expenses incurred before or after the grant period indicated by the award.

Research/Publication Grant
Scholars of any nationality holding the Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree are eligible. This grant is for funding of up to $1000, available for use in 2024 to fund or subsidize a research trip or a publication (e.g., for purchasing image rights or as a publication subvention) on any aspect of Â鶹´«Ã½ art and architecture from prehistory to the present. Applicants must be IAS members at the time of application and may not have received an IAS award in the previous two years. The application can be found here on our webpage and the deadline is January 15, 2025.

The IAS Awards Committee will determine the awarding of the grant, with final approval by the Board of Directors. Upon acceptance of the grant, the awardee must submit a 250-word abstract of the project to be posted on the IAS website. Funding must be used within the 2025 calendar year and a final report indicating actual expenses must be submitted to the IAS President and Treasurer by December 31, 2025. The IAS will not reimburse for research expenses incurred before or after the grant period indicated by the award.
